Medieval Musical Instruments

When I am not in my workshop handcrafting authentic medieval musical instruments for my customers, I can be found somewhere researching historical periods of time and the musical instruments and influences going back in history. It’s certainly true to say that making musical instruments which accurately replicate what was made centuries ago is a true passion of mine. It’s something that I love to achieve for my customers who also love historical musical instruments.

I have outlined my process of instrument making on my website. However, it is impossible to state every part of instrument making process as there are many intricacies and the process is slightly different every time, as each piece of wood is unique in its own right. What is consistent is my love for handcrafting medieval musical instruments and creating a fully playable instrument from base wood, along with carving in beautiful and historically accurate designs.
